of the most costly as well as the poorest houses, yet they bave not seemed to think of the remedy in providing better demgns and calling public attention to them. REAL EstATE AORNs offer another excellent field for the sctvity of women. It is a quiet, nice business, in which a lndy would bave bttle to do but sit in bex office and receive clients, boys being employed, as they are mow by men, to colleot rents, show dwellings, ete. A nice office, comfortably furnished, with s sensible, well-informed woman at the head of it, would be an immense attraction in cities like New York where women do so much of the housc-hunting.

It is a subject, moreover, upon which women necossarily know more than men, and should knmow. They can see at a glance if they are good for anything, if a house is habitable, well adapted to family needs and family comfort, and they can presont the points in the clearest and most attracrive form.

There are a thousand things for women to do besides making shirts and night-caps, though these are much better than doing nothing; but the point is that they must do them. The entire advertisimg agency business ought to be in their hands, and when they have got some money to put in it they will want a bank—a woman's savings bank—the president, directors and employees all women. They will also want a Woman's Life Insurance Copany, but not antil they have a vote, and their lives are worth insuring.

Why WoMEN WANT A VorE.—A short time since a man named Wetton obtained a decree of divorce from his wite, which she endeavored to have set sside on the ground that it was fraudulently obtaimed. No investigation could be obtained, bowever. The Judge sustained the man and turned the woman ont of court. A few days afterwards the man married agnin, the second wife mot beig as well suited as she expected, and hearing of the divorce, of which it seems she had beon ignorant, set a lawyer to work to find out the resl facts in the case. and so triumphently proved fraud in regard to the first wife, that ahe got her own divorce without any trouble.

But in what position is the first wife? Who is to compensate ber for the injury she has sustamed ? Would the Judge have dared to turn her out, and refuse to listen to her if she had a vote ?

A WowmaN AGAnsT SUFFRAGE.—A Miss Mand Ernest lecturod the other evening in the ball of De Garmo's building against Woman Suffage, and made a termble mess of it. The young indy, who is quite youns, with a sandy complexion and light ourls. smd, no woman ought to vote or to lecture; and oertainly she proved herself an excellent argument in support of her own proposition. There were forty-five persons present, most of them women, and they all hung the heads and wishes they were efer mot women or else that Miss Ernest bad socepted hor own ststoments and staid at bome. We are told that Woman's Rights leoturers are mot popular, but somehow or other they manage to araw orowds, and win the respect and considoration of the most intelligent men, while, on the opposite side, with perhaps a single e coption. mo argument bas been presented which even friends could consider respectable
